If the Republicans lose, and they are behind by ten points as this is written two weeks before the election, it will be because of two people, and unpopular President, George Bush and their self-appointed cheerleader, Sean Hannity of FOX News. The Georgia Beat editor is old enough to remember the presidential campaign of John Kennedy against Richard Nixon. Back then there was no cable TV and the most coverage we got was about 3 minutes coverage on the networks each afternoon. With what we have gone through with 24 hours coverage on CNN and FOX, most of us are now suffering fom what CNN described this week as campaign fatigue. However, the election is only a couple of weeks away so it is time for our observations. Presidential Race: Barack Obama has the good fortune of being in the right place at the right time and now has about a ten point lead throught the country with enough “Blue” states to win the election. Senator John McCain is a war hero and a good man, but it just wasn’t the year for the GOP. We see the Republicans losing mainly because of two people, an unpopular Presiden George Bush and their own self-apponted cheerleader, Sean Hannity, a talk show host on FOX TV and on radio across the country. Described on the Internet as “the political hinchman of the conservative party, ” Hannity’s own website lists the GOP ticket as McCAIN, HANNITY, PALIN” There has been nothing fair and balanced about the disgusting talk of the likes of Hannity. His candidates are paying the price.
