Senator Isakson Will Run Again

Popular Republican Senator Johnny Isakson came to the State Capitol where he once served to announce on Tuesday that he plans to seek re-election. He had possibly entertained some thoughts about running for governor, but probable candidates for that post were standing behind him on the steps, hoping to run with him and making clear they were glad not to be running against him. Governor Sonny Perdue introduced Isakson first and said good things about him and then turned the microphone over to Georgia’s Senior Senator Saxby Chambliss who also praised the work that is doine by Isakson in Washington. Isakson had spoken earlier to the Georgia House of Representatives. He said that he and Chambliss were working hard to help the economy. He said they were in the greatest country in the world and in the best state in the country.
