U.S. Attorneys Picked for Georgia

U.S. Attorneys for Macon and Savannah areas have been named by President Barack Obama. State Senator Ed Tarver, an Augusta Democrat, is the president’s pick to head the U.S.Attoney’s Office in Savanah. Tarver is a highly regarded legislator who serves on a number of important legislative committees. He graduated from the University of Georgis School of Law in 1991. Between college and law school, he served in the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of captain. Obama also nominated Michael Moore, a Warner Robins attorney to head the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Macon. Moore is a former chief assistant U.S.attrney and former state senator. He graduated from Mercer University law school in 1993. Both nominees need U.S. Senate Approval. A special election will be held to fill Tarver’s Senate Seat.
