Singapore Awaits Ambassador Adelman

David Adelman, a popular and smart Georgia State Senator, has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate to be the American Ambassador to Singapore. Nominated by President Obama to the position, he and his wife, Caroline, are expected to head for Singapore within the next few days. Adelman is expected to resign from the Senate this week. While the seat will be vacant for the final few days of the legislative session, his successor is likely to be Jason Carter, grandson of President and Mrs. Jimmy Carter.
