Barnes Wins Educators Endorsement

Eight years ago teachers in Georgia were made with Gov. Roy Barnes and took it out on him in his re-election bid This year the endorsement of the powerful teachers’ organization, GAE, 43,000 members strong, has endorsed Roy Barnes for governor of Georgia. The newly-elected president of GAE, Calvine Rollins says her organization’s recommendations were once again based on candidate interviews and profiles that indicated their willingness to work for the betterment of Georgia’s public education system. In the state’s school superintendent’s race, GAE is putting its weight behind Joe Martin, and also announced support for Carol Porter for lt. governor and Georganna Sinkfield for Secretary of State.
