Stock Coleman Died After Fall

Funeral services are being planned in Waycross for Stock Coleman, age 63, a member of the Georgia State Patrol when he headed the security detail for then Governor Jimmy Carter. Coleman, brother of former Georgia Speaker of the House Terry Coleman, died on Monday afternoon after suffering a fall at his home. He suffered head trauma and bleeding of the brain. He had been living at Fernandina Beach, Fla. Coleman also worked in Washington during the Carter Administrtion with Budget Director Bert Lance. Coleman also played an important role in the Olympic Games in Georgia when he had the tremendous assignment of coordinating the travel schedule of the Olympic Torch. His brother, Terry, said today that the family is working on funeral plans which will probably take place in Waycross, Georgia.
