Sources report that the Board of Regents will announce on Friday that Hank Huckaby, former budget director at the Capitol and now a State Legislator, will become Chancellor of the University System. Although severl applied, Huckaby seems to have a lock on the job.
Huckaby came to the Capitol during the administration of Gov. Zell Miller. The current chancelor, Erroll Davis, willretire in June. Huckaby was elected as a Republican last year to the legislature and has been one of the leaders for the administration of Gov. Nathan Deal.
