Veteran state legislator, Tommy Smith of Alma, has revealed that recent exams by doctors in Atlanta have determined that he has prostate cancer. Rep. Smith, of Alma, GA. said he is considering treatment at several locations and that he is “praying for the right decision.”
Smith has experienced problems with his mobility due to pain in his feet throughout the year and used a motorized wheelchair for moving about in the Capitol during the most recent session. His many friends at the Capitol wish him a speedy recovery from his illness.
