Maybe No “President Gingrich” as Staff Resigns

“There were disagreements about where the campaign needed to go, and I felt this was the right move. And wish him well,” said Scott Rials of Atlanta, Gingrich’s longtime ally and one of several key aides who resigned enmasse on Thursday. Former Speaker Gingrich is reported to be planning to stay in the race, but he will have to round up a lot of staff members and it is unlikely there will be a Georgia Office. The list of those who resigned included campaign manager Rob Johnson; Rick Tuyler, Gingrich’s long-time spokesman; David Carney in New Hampshire; strategist Sam Dawson; Katon Dawson, a South Carolina consultand and Criaig Schoenfield, Gingrich’s man in Iowa. Gingrich put out a statement saying “The campaign begins anew Sunday in Los Angeles.”  It was also learned during the day that former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue is no longer serving as co-chairman of the Gingrich for President campaign.
