Gov. Nathan Deal has announced that Senator Butch Miller (R-Gainesville) will replace outgoing Sen. Jim Butterworth as one of his three Senate floor leaders on October 2. Miller will act as a liaison between the governor and the state Senate to help Deal guide his legislative agenda. Miller joins Columbia County’s Bill Jackson and Fayette County’s Ronnie Chance on the Senate floor leadership team. Butterworth is resigning from the Senate to take on the role as Adjutant General of Georgia.
