John Carson, a CPA with SunTrust Bank, won a special election Tuesday in a runpoff between two Republicans to fill the House seat eld by the late Rep. Bobby Franklin. Carson, a newcomer to politics, received 1,250 votes compared to Lamutt’s 668 votes, according to unofficial results from Cobb County. Franklin was found dead in his home in Juoly after having complained of chest pains.
